LaGuardia Community College Enrollment Center Project & Construction Management Services


The new innovative state-of-the-art Enrollment Center project consisted of a 22,000 SF center that houses the testing, registration, financial, and educational planning services for the LaGuardia Community College. It was designed as a “one-stop center” where students can easily access all necessary enrollment services. A manufacturing company as well as a high school previously occupied the floor, which were relocated as a part of this effort.

The space required a total conversion from an industrial functioning space to classrooms, a study hall, restrooms, mechanical spaces, as well as areas for future expansion. To service this newly renovated space, a new cooling tower was designed and constructed as well as four stand alone heating, air conditioning, and ventilation units.

AFG was responsible for construction management and coordinated four prime contractors: general construction, mechanical/plumbing and electrical. AFG also coordinated with all design disciplines: civil, architectural, mechanical, HVAC, electrical and telecommunications.
