In 2018, the GSA awarded AFG Group, Inc. a contract to provide support and services to the Lease Project Management Division of the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA). This project included renovation and build-out of new office spaces and building upgrades to Level 3 Security, providing better space utilization within the newly leased space at Braddock Metro Center.

Under this contract, AFG provided support for the development of 133,000 rentable square feet for approximately 1,200 employees, improving the space utilization rate significantly. AFG group also utilized their experience with GSA security projects to support project efforts in upgrading the building to Level 3 Security.

AFG was brought onto the project during the 65% design phase. AFG’s team was responsible for all construction management and inspection services, as well as providing scheduling and scheduling analysis services, and developing and maintaining an integrated schedule with FFE procurements and installation dates. AFG also provided a weekly risk assessment with of ideas mitigation, attended all project related meetings with the client and end users. Additionally, project managers coordinated many of the non-regular meetings and kept weekly correspondence with tenants and client project team to ensure the government interests and requirements were being met.
