GSA Pensacola Federal Courthouse Modernization CM Services
AFG was awarded a contract on the $24.2M Pensacola Federal Courthouse Modernization Project from the US General Services Administration (GSA) to provide Construction Management Services.
The courthouse, located in downtown Pensacola, Florida is scheduled to undergo repair and alterations to fix water intrusion problems that have persisted since the building was constructed 20 years ago. The courthouse was vacated in 2015 amid concerns of poor indoor air quality.
Repair and alterations for the project include replacing the building’s facade and the standing seam metal roof system to prevent further water intrusion as well as repairing structural damage and abatement of mold from past water intrusions. The fire safety system and the building’s HVAC system will both be upgraded. The existing restrooms in the building will be renovated and modified to provide full access to individuals with physical disabilities. The grounds, approaches, and parking area will be repaired along with other upgrades to improve stormwater drainage.
The facility will service the Northern District of Florida to include five courtrooms and related chambers, the U.S. District Clerk, Pretrial Service and the Grand Jury. Additionally, there will be offices for U.S. Sen. Marco Rubio, R-Fla., the Office of the U.S. Attorney, the U.S. Marshal Service and GSA.
