NIH-GSA-AFG Team to Receive NIH Office of the Director Honor Award
The NIH All of Us Research Program HQ Renovation Team to receive the 2021 Office of the Director Honor Award.
The National Institutes of Health, All of Us Research Program Headquarters Renovation Project Team, has been selected for a 2021 Office of the Director Honor Award.
The NIH OD Award given by Larry Tabak, DDS, PhD, NIH Principal Deputy Director and Deputy Ethics Counselor, recognizes superior performance or special efforts directly related to fulfilling the mission of NIH.
AFG provided construction management, lease management, and value engineering services to the U.S. General Services Administration overseeing the 27,685 sqft leased headquarters located in Rockville, Maryland. The $4.25M renovation provided a high-tech and collaborative space for the AoURP, whose mission is to improve health care through research by building a diverse database that can inform thousands of studies on a variety of health conditions.
Unique features of the space include a pink noise system to account for the open floor plan and noise transfer, interior offices and conference rooms that allow more natural light throughout the headquarters, and an art installation provided by the NIH Medical Arts Branch.
The virtual awards ceremony will take place on September 22, 2021.
