Kai Goodrich, CCM, CHC, LEED AP, Elected President of the CMAA National Capital Chapter

Kai Goodrich, CCM, CHC, LEED AP, Vice President, has been elected President of the CMAA NCC.

Kai Goodrich, CCM, CHC, LEED AP, AFG Group, Inc. (AFG), Vice President, has been elected President of the Construction Management Association of America (CMAA), National Capital Chapter (NCC). The CMAA NCC is the largest chapter in the association with over 1,300 members.

As President, Goodrich has committed to highlighting innovative approaches to CM, building collaborative relationships between Owners and CMs, and developing a strong young professional and student network of inspired future leaders. He has previously held the position of CMAA NCC Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, and Director of Future Leaders & Young Members.

Goodrich has over 30 years of construction experience in both the Private and Public/Government market sectors, with a specialty in large facilities and multi-location campuses. His clients include the General Services Administration (GSA), US Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), Department of Justice (DOJ), Washington Metro Transit Authority (WMATA), Inova Healthcare System among others. Goodrich recently oversaw the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Headquarters Phase II Consolidation at St. Elizabeths West Campus for the US General Services Administration (GSA), managing a team of 30+ construction project managers, engineers, architects, and other staff professionals in support of the $750M program.

At AFG, he is known for pairing a servant-leader management approach with a firm establishment of CMAA Standards of Practice on each of his projects. In the past 5 years, Goodrich’s teams have won two (2) CMAA National Project Achievement Awards, and four (4) CMAA NCC Project Achievement Awards.

Goodrich holds a bachelor’s degree in construction management from Arizona State University, is an avid runner, and resides in Northern Virginia with his wife and dog.
