AFG’s Director of Marketing Recognized with National Award for Commitment to Small Business Advocacy
Nov. 26, 2019 – Dallas – AFG Group, Inc. (AFG), a nationally recognized program, construction and relocation management firm, announced that its Director of Marketing, Sally Clark, CPSM, is the recipient of the Society of American Military Engineers (SAME) Post Small Business Liaison Officer of the Year Award.
The selection panel was impressed by Clark’s leadership in expanding the scope of the U.S. General Services Administration (GSA) Office of Small Business Utilization’s (OSBU) recent outreach efforts from a 3-week engagement with the Mid-Maryland Post into an on-going, year-round educational campaign with the national SAME small business community.
Clark is also the President of the Society of American Military Engineers (SAME) Mid-Maryland Post, Vice Chair-Elect for Conferences on the SB Community of Interest, Acting Small Business Liaison Officer for the Mid-Maryland Post, a graduate of the SAME DC/Northern Virginia Post’s Leadership and Mentoring Program (2017), and the recipient of the Award for Outstanding Contributions to Marketing and/or Communications for the SAME Mid-Maryland Post (2018).
SAME National President Lt. Col. Wendell Barnes, PE, F.SAME, USA (Ret.), presented the award to Clark during the SAME annual Federal Small Business Conference in Dallas on November 22 at its highest attended conference in history with over 3,700 registrants.
Founded in 1920, SAME leads collaborative efforts to identify and resolve national security infrastructure-related challenges. It unites industry and government across the architecture, engineering, and construction industries. AFG has been a sustaining member of SAME for over a decade and has won multiple Sustaining Member of the Year Awards from the Washington DC and Northern Virginia Posts. At the SAME Joint Engineer Training Conference earlier this year, AFG’s Business Development Manager, Catherine Niles, received the Small Business Community of Interest Volunteer of the Year Award.
