AFG to Assist GSA with Department of Education Lease Consolidation Project
Sep 10, 2019 – AFG has been awarded the General Services Administration contract to provide Construction Management and Design Management Support Services for the Department of Education (DOE) offices within the Lyndon Baines Johnson (LBJ) Federal Building in Washington, DC. This project in the historic, 640,332 sqft building will renovate and reconfigure the 5th floor to consolidate Department of Education Staff, allowing further renovations of the building as several external leases are consolidated into one building.
Renovations will include upgrades to HVAC, new power distribution circuits, furniture, fixtures and equipment (FF&E), and design of open workspaces.
AFG will be providing a CMa team led by Project Director Kai Goodrich, CCM, LEEP AP BD+C, CHC to include Construction Executives, Construction/Project Managers, Commissioning agents, Quality Control Inspectors, and a Furniture Project Manager. Goodrich brings to the project over 30 years of Construction Management experience and has served as Project and Program Director on multiple AFG projects that received Construction Management Association of America (CMAA) Regional and National Project of the Year Awards.
