AFG Team Awarded Follow-On Contract for VAMC Manhattan, NY Recovery and Renovations Project
Jul 9, 2018 – New York, NY – AFG Group, Inc. (AFG), a leading construction management (CM) firm, was recently awarded the follow-on, option-year subcontract to provide Construction Management Support Services (CM) for the Hospital Recovery and Renovations Program at the VA Medical Center in Manhattan, NY (VAMC Manhattan).
The VAMC Manhattan is a 201-bed acute care facility with more than 5,400 inpatient admissions and 337,000 outpatient visits annually. The $75 Million construction program is a multi-project effort as a result of damage caused by Hurricane Sandy to restore and rehabilitate parts of the facility, and involves building flood defenses, relocating critical patient care and utility services, and the restoration of the ground floor level which was flooded. It also includes restoration of two support services accessory buildings on the site which were also flooded.
Specifically, working as a sub consultant to Interior Systems, Inc., dba ISI Professional Services (ISI), a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB), AFG is providing full time on-site architectural, electrical, mechanical and site safety CM staff. AFG’s staff assists the VA’s Field Resident Engineer Offce in performing various construction management services by monitoring and inspectingconstruction for compliance with contract requirements.
