AFG Promotes Lorena Alvarez to Deputy Project Manager
We are thrilled to announce that Lorena Alvarez, Assoc. AIA, CCM, CQM has been promoted to Deputy Project Manager for the NIH Inspections & Quality Assurance Contract. This milestone reflects everything she has brought to the AFG NIH team since joining in 2021.
Lorena has 25 years of global experience as a healthcare designer, planner, architect, and project manager. She joined AFG as part of the HSI team under Marcos Miranda, CCM, LEED AP, cGMP, where she quickly established herself as a trusted and knowledgeable partner. That foundation of technical expertise and mission-driven dedication now serves as the cornerstone of her expanded role on the NIH Inspections and QA project.
In addition to her promotion, Lorena recently earned her Certified Construction Manager (CCM) credential, one of the most respected certifications in the construction management profession. A reflection of her commitment to continuous growth and delivering the highest standard of service to every team and client she serves.
In her time with AFG, Lorena has built strong working relationships with NIH stakeholders grounded in trust and mutual respect. As an active member of LA.IDEA, the leading collective of Latin American design professionals in the DC area, she has served as Education Advisor and Community Outreach Chair, and continues to share her expertise at monthly meetings.
