AFG Group Awarded GSA CM and Move Management Contract for the CMS Headquarters
Oct 19, 2016 – Herndon, VA – Prominent Woman-Owned Small Business, AFG Group, Inc. (AFG), was recently awarded a contract for construction management (CM) and move management support services by the General Services Administration (GSA), at the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) Headquarters Campus in Woodlawn, MD.
Oct 19, 2016 – Herndon, VA – Prominent Woman-Owned Small Business, AFG Group, Inc. (AFG), was recently awarded a contract for construction management (CM) and move management support services by the General Services Administration (GSA), at the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) Headquarters Campus in Woodlawn, MD.
The campus is comprised of four interconnected buildings – three office buildings and a warehouse facility – totaling approximately 937,173 gross square feet. The facility was completed in 1995 and is currently undergoing a multi-phase renovation to improve their space utilization, increase workspace flexibility, and refresh the aesthetics of overall work environment.
Kim Showalter, AFG’s CM Move Manager on the project, completed the initial relocation to the “single- site” campus that consolidated the “Health Care Financing Administration” in the 1990’s and is proud to be leading this new effort. Under the current contract, AFG will oversee all CM services on behalf of GSA including the project administration, pre-award, design, and construction phases, safety oversight, testing/commissioning, contract modifications, inspections and close-out; as well as all move management services from planning through close-out.
