In 2010, AFG Group, Inc. managed the completion of the new Stem Cell Laboratory for the National Cancer Institute in building 41 on the NIH Bethesda Campus. AFG provided complete Project Management and Construction Management services for the duration of this project; performing the duties as the Project Manager, responsible for funds and schedule management.

This project was a major renovation with a construction value of $2,600,000. Construction was completed in approximately 9 months. The objective of the renovation was to convert an empty, unconditioned shell into a complete, complex, functional laboratory facility, approximately 10,000 SF in size. The new lab included 5 tissue culture rooms containing bio-safety cabinets and a chemical fume hood.
