GSA Robert H. Jackson Courthouse USBC – Correct Outdoor Air System Deficiencies

Courthouses & Criminal Justice

GSA Region 2 selected AFG to correct deficiencies in the outside air supply system in the Robert H. Jackson U.S. Federal Courthouse in Buffalo, NY.

The Jackson Courthouse is 10-floors, and features secure indoor parking for 54 vehicles, a glass entry pavilion that has all 4,536 words of the United States Constitution etched into the glass, and is topped off by a glass enclosure meant to resemble a glowing lantern when illuminated. It is currently home to the U.S. District Court, Court of Appeals, U.S. Probation, U.S. Marshals, U.S. Attorney and GSA. The courthouse was designed and constructed to achieve a LEED-NC Gold certification through the U.S. Green Building Council.

For this contract, AFG will furnish all materials, equipment, labor, and supervision to correct deficiencies in the outside air supply system currently serving air handlers on the 3rd and 10th floors at the Jackson Courthouse. Corrections to the HVAC system include replacing the natural gas heaters at the 10th floor outside air handlers with pre-heat coils and hot water boiler system, installation of weather-resistant exterior louvers, and the installation of heating coils in air handlers located at the 3rd floor. Demolition work, piping work, control work, air and water balancing work, and ancillary projects will also be completed.
