In 2009, AFG Group began supporting and managing the Express Services Program, specifically all in-house projects for the National Cancer Institute. This program involves the completion of repair projects for the NCI Laboratories and animal holding facilities located in Buildings 10, 12, 14, 37, 41, and 50 on the NIH Main campus. AFG manages the work requests from project definition to project completion.

The Express Services Program consists of repair and alteration projects, approximately $250 - $15,000 in value, there are multiple projects to track and manage simultaneously, usually on the average of 20-30 tasks at any given time. These tasks typically last 1-5 days and sometimes up to 2 weeks. These are time-critical repairs and upgrades that are essential for the proper and efficient function of the laboratories to further cancer research. Over the past 16 months, AFG has completed over 400 projects. Before the program’s inception, these projects either didn’t get completed, or clients had to wait, often for months and years, while they were packaged into a large repair project. The types of repairs include base cabinetry, shelving, and counter top modifications, electrical and plumbing repairs and upgrades, and all finish trades. These projects are conducted in occupied spaces and require extreme sensitivity to the client’s work environment.
